Josh was a huge influence to me growing up. 5 or 6 years my senior, he showed me the ropes running around causing mischief in my neighborhood, meanwhile convincing my parents we were just having fun.

I dont get the chance to hang with him too often, but the other day he gave me a ring saying he wanted to shoot some footage of him downhill skating in one of the local Malibu canyons, so I cruised without hesitation.

Halfway to the meeting point, I see someone walking up the hill. Sure enough, it was Josh, already finished a first several mile run solo. I gave him a hitch  back up to his ride, which in itself is a complete inspiration.

An avid rock climber and all around nature guy, he is living in his van with the most simplistic lifestyle. Surf and skateboards, minimal clothes, a rockclimbing crashpad for a mattress, and his food spices. I still dream of hopefully soon owning a van converted to house me and a few key toys, and his version nailed it.

We did a couple runs, shot with his camera, and I shot a run with my camera (canon 5d mkii). Cant wait to check out his completed piece.
