I have been a Lakers fan for as long as I can remember. Never really had a choice. While I was in Bali, the internet was too slow to stream video to the computer, so I listened to audio streams via internet for most of the playoffs. I got home just in time to watch the last couple of games and the Lakers take down the Magic in game 5.

So I finally got this roll of film developed that was left over from Bali. Hence the reason I have waited to post anything.  I was pumped to get this roll back since it became an “experiment” of sorts. While shooting the image above (shortly after actually) I was wading in the water back to the beach at Padang in Bali, and I dropped the camera in the water.  Thankfully, the camera was just a cheap plastic point and shoot. Not a disposable, but a reusable point and shoot I have just for reasons like this. The camera instantly flooded, and the roll of film inside, which had not been rewound into the canister, was soaking wet with salt water. I manually rewound the roll, and tossed the camera. By the time I dropped the roll off a couple days ago back home, the canister had corroded  so bad that the interior wouldnt rotate. The film technician said the roll would probably not come out.

Well, here are the results. Thanks for sticking around.

The last c0uple of days the waves have been kinda small so I decided to mess around in the water a bit and shoot some photos with these Aussie groms, Duncan McNicol and Steve Ahrens. Super funny kids, hyped on pretty much everything, ripping surfers, and as expected, can party pretty tough.

After a few weeks here without letting up, things can start to take a little bit of a toll on your body. About 10 days ago I got elevator dropped onto my right knee on the reef and it took a chunk out of my skin. However, what happens with cuts here is they never really dry up, especially when you are in the water a ton. What then happens is the top layer of skin, which tries to dry up and scab, then gets wet and falls off. This in turn creates a “crater” effect. I have a bunch of these small ones on my feet, knee, and arm. I reckon they won’t heal until I get home and stay out of the water for a bit.

The last couple of days I have been surfing a ton. So much that I woke up this morning slightly unmotivated to get out there, despite it being sick. So seeing I have been surfing more than shooting photos, I figure it would be a good excuse to get out in the water with the camera to share what the waves look like out front.

Real Uluwatu local.

Leo  and Nick have left, leaving me up at the bukit solo. Anthony Petruso is now in town though. Damn regular footers. Before Liger and Hair left though, we visited a right so Lee could get his frontside on.
